"Geoff Wood, solid guy."
That's how my friend, Jeff Slobotski, described me shortly after we met. It's a great characterization, very Midwestern, and something that I try to live up to everyday.
Since you're here, we've likely met recently or perhaps you've read something I wrote. If not, you've probably heard my name somewhere in the community - all good things.
As for me, you can find a lengthy narrative on my life at the About page, poke around at my personal blog to get my thoughts on the topics of the day or find out what I think is amusing, or skim through an index of posts that I've had published elsewhere on the web.
Here are the high points:
I'm an entrepreneur with my hands in many ventures, principally VolunteerLocal (a web-based software solution for managing volunteers at large events and festivals).
I'm passionate about Des Moines, Iowa, the greatest city in the world, and cultivating the entrepreneurial ecosystem in our community.
I celebrate a culture of promotion and work diligently to highlight accomplishments in Des Moines' creative class through Silicon Prairie News.
I'm a husband to a Drake University law student and a father to an infant son, both of whom I love very much and make it possible and worthwhile to do all the things I do.
